Hi I’m Dave, a semi professional strongman, and proud member of Team Strom.

I am a previous Welsh champion, and multiple time Welsh podium finisher and UK competitor.

My first love of strongman started by watching the Christmas World’s Strongest Man competitions on the telly as a child, but like most sports minded male teens I found myself first on the rugby pitch. But after eight years, and working my way up to the first division of my local team, strongman was calling my name.

I didn’t go into competing right away, I was purely happy being the strongest man in the room. It wasn’t until one of my strongman mates Ashley made a bet that he could beat me in a strongman competition that it really took off. 

And so, at Wales Strongest Man in Cardiff sports hall, I placed 7th above Ashley’s 10th, and my aspiration to one day be Wales’ Strongest Man was born.

It’s been a fun journey to the top, I ruptured my Achilles which lead to multiple surgeries, infections, big toe tendon transfer, and being left with no Achilles in my right leg, to coming back and winning Wales Strongest Man 2022, and 5th at UK Strongest Man. A year later I ruptured my left Achilles and I’m now climbing my way back up again. 

Throughout it all I’ve been using Strom products, and being Team Strom was a goal of mine for many years. The Strom motto of Never Settle keeps me motivated, it’s written inside my Strom lifting belt and you’ll find me often staring at it during those difficult sessions. Its an amazing team to be a part of.

Outside of the gym I enjoy working on my Landrover, and I’m engaged to my beautiful fiancee, and father to my wonderful daughter.
