HYDRAMAX

AN OSMOLYTE DRIVEN FORMULA
HydraMAX is a targeted hydration formula designed for serious athletes and bodybuilders who understand that not all electrolyte products are created equal. While standard hydration products flood your system with sodium, HydraMAX takes a smarter approach: letting you manage your own sodium intake, and providing maximum intracellular water retention, with ingredients that are less common that the salt you have on your table.
Want more sodium in your intra? Just grab that salt shaker and sprinkle some in.

Additionally the product features a great dose of cranberry extract which as well as being a fantastic antioxidant has long been known to help support immune system function.

THE FORMULA
Each big tub of HydraMAX includes 90 servings, the gym bag edition being 36 serves.
Per 12g serving:
  • Taurine (5000mg)
  • Cranberry Extract (2000mg)
  • Coconut Water (2000mg)
  • Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C)(500mg)
  • Dandelion (200mg)

THE MISUNDERSTOOD SODIUM PROBLEM
Most athletes eating a typical Western diet already consume 3,000-5,000mg of sodium daily - far above normal recommended intake. For these people, adding more sodium from pre-workout and intra-workout products causes two problems:
  1. Excess sodium pulls water into the extracellular space (outside muscle cells), creating uncomfortable bloating and lower back pumps.
  2. Your body compensates by holding water to maintain osmotic balance, leading to the soft, watery look that bodybuilders actively work to avoid.
HydraMAX solves this by keeping sodium minimal while providing the electrolytes you actually need to maintain cellular hydration and performance.

HOW IT WORKS: TAURINE AS THE KEY OSMOLYTE
Taurine
is the workhorse ingredient in HydraMAX. Unlike sodium, taurine acts as an osmolyte - a compound that draws water into muscle cells rather than pooling it outside. When taurine concentrations increase inside muscle cells, water follows osmotically, hyper-hydrating the muscle from within.

This delivers multiple benefits: improved muscle fullness and pump quality, enhanced cellular hydration for protein synthesis, reduced exercise-induced dehydration, and dramatically fewer muscle cramps during intense training or competition.

Most taurine doses on the market are decoration. Taurine is the most abundant free amino acid in skeletal muscle coming to around 1.4 grams of taurine per kilogram of muscle.
Scale that to a real physique:
  • 25kg (untrained male)~35g
  • 35kg (trained, 85kg athlete)~49g
  • 45kg (heavyweight bodybuilder)~63g
Skeletal muscle holds roughly 70% of total body taurine. So a bodybuilder carrying 45kg of muscle is holding close to 90 grams of taurine across the whole body, 63 of it in muscle alone.

Taurine is commonly dosed at 500mg-1g, this won't be enough for any meaningful changes in trained athletes, let alone heavier bodybuilders or strongmen. Commonly cited omnivore intakes run 40-400mg a day, with a typical Western diet landing near 150mg. Your liver makes a further 50-125mg from cysteine, and only when cysteine is not already committed to glutathione. Five grams is 10 to 100 times a full day of dietary taurine, delivered in one serve, this well exceeds what you could ever get from diet alone.

The 5-gram dose of taurine in HydraMAX is substantial and evidence-based, providing the osmotic load needed to meaningfully shift intracellular fluid balance within 30-60 minutes of consumption. Five grams drives plasma taurine under a fasted baseline creates a 13-fold rise inside an hour, and holds it elevated for hours after.[1] That steep extracellular gradient is what feeds TauT, what supports cell volume through a session where contraction, metabolite accumulation and fluid shifts are all working against it.

A 1-gram dose does not build that gradient and it insignificant against a 60-gram pool.

DANDELION, VITAMIN C, AND CRANBERRY

Taurine does half the job in moving water into the muscle cell. Dandelion does the other half, clearing the surplus that pools outside it.

Dandelion at 200mg works as an aquaretic rather than a conventional diuretic, and that distinction is the whole point. Pharmaceutical diuretics strip water and minerals out together, which is how people end up flat, cramping and depleted in the week that matters most. An aquaretic moves water at far lower mineral cost. The water it moves comes out of the extracellular space, because that is the compartment the kidney draws from first, and that is the same compartment behind the bloat, the soft watery look, and for those dealing with back pumps, the pressure sitting in your lower back.

2 grams of cranberry extract and 500mg of vitamin C, 625% of the EU RDA, carry the antioxidant load. Training generates reactive oxygen species in working muscle, and these two work different pathways rather than duplicating each other: ascorbic acid is one of the body's primary water-soluble antioxidants, cranberry brings proanthocyanidins and anthocyanins. The benefit is adjacent to hydration rather than inside it, because oxidative damage and dehydration stress the same cellular machinery, and reducing one buffers the other.

PALATABILITY & HYDRATION: COCONUT WATER
Coconut Water Extract is in HydraMAX for how it drinks. The limit on mid-session hydration is rarely what is in the bottle, it is how much of the bottle you finish. Thin, salty, astringent drinks get sipped and abandoned, and athletes under-drink during training as a direct result. Coconut water extract gives HydraMAX body and a rounder finish, so you keep drinking through a session instead of leaving half of it on the rack.

STACKING SUGGESTIONS

HydraMAX is a foundational hydration tool that stacks seamlessly with most Strom products. Combine it with EssentialMAX for comprehensive Essential Amino Acids alongside, CarbMAX for intra-workout carbohydrate absorption and endurance benefits during high-volume training days.

F.A.Q.

Q: Will the dandelion make me need to urinate constantly?
A: At 200mg, the diuretic effect is mild and well-tolerated. Most athletes don't experience uncomfortable urination. If you're doing pre-competition loading, take it during training, not immediately before competition.

Q: How much water should I drink with HydraMAX?
A: Standard guidance is 8-12 ounces of water per serving. Taurine works best with adequate fluid intake. Adjust based on sweat rate and body weight.
